The Beatles are coming to Tokyo and Atsuko knows that she must go. The only thing standing between her and this historic concert is her strict tea-ceremony-teaching mother. Adapted by Keiko Amano from her own memoir Ocha Teacher, Yesterday is a slice of Showa-era Japanese life to be released free-of-charge as a episodic podcast and sold as a downloadable album. Rather than a straight drama, the scenes will be intercut with and flow in and out of a soundscape of music and sounds specific to 1960s Japan. Each episode will be like a track on a concept album.
